The former rubber factory at the top of the Kopli peninsula is rapidly transforming into a trendy and vibrant area. The former factory site, known as the Pohjala factory, follows in the footsteps of Telliskivi and has already been home to a number of businesses for a few years, including Karjase Sai cafè-bakery, Barbarea restoran, Botik baar, bookstore REad and cafè as well as Kopli Köök.
This summer the area is really coming alive and especially on weekends it is worth heading to the outskirts of Pohja Tallinn. Saturday starts off nicely with a delicious brunch at Kopli Köök. With a full belly, it’s nice to explore the boutiques of the developing factory district and admire the rustic and beautiful surroundings. We also recommend combining the trip with a visit to the wooden house quarters at the Kopli tip and the newly renovated Kopli lines.
Brunch or lunch in the relaxed atmosphere of Kopli Köök will energise your day
Kopli Köök is only open at lunchtime, so you should arrive early. During the week, the café serves a rotating lunch menu and on Saturdays brunch. The rotating lunch menu often includes woks, chicken with rice, Lindström steaks, polenta and other familiar lunch dishes. The portions are fair-sized and nutritious. Lunch also includes coffee.
At Saturday brunch, you can indulge omelettes, fried eggs and croissants, or even stuffed brioches. You can also add something sweet, like pavlova or tiramisu, if you like. The Saturday brunch is topped with a mimosa. After a tasty brunch or lunch, it’s nice to go out and explore the developing area in more detail.
The interior of Kopli Kitchen is bohemian, carefree and colourful. The cosy café is decorated with vintage furniture, paintings and fun objects. Weather allowing, you can enjoy the café’s offerings on the sunny terrace.
