One of Viron’s largest and best-known local breweries Põhjala Brewery serves great food at its taproom in Noblessner. All day breakfast is available every day. On Sundays, the brewery restaurant opens at 10am and is a very popular Sunday brunch spot. The delicious breakfast menu includes fresh American favourites that are sure to satisfy even the biggest appetites.
Põhjala Tap Room is a brewery, restaurant and shop
The restaurant is located in the Noblessner harbour area, right next to the popular interior design shop Shishi. In the former factory building you will also find the Põhjala brewery, which you can view through the large windows on the restaurant side.
The Põhjala Brewery story began in 2011, when four beer-loving friends decided to turn their beloved pastime into a business. The brewery’s first own beer was launched in 2013, and today Põhjala Brewery’s beers are sold in more than 30 countries. The beers can be enjoyed in almost every country in Europe.
The restaurant menu is designed to accompany beer – also works with soft drinks!
Põhjala Tap Room and Brewery serves 24 different Põhjala IPAs, stouts and a few selected beers also from other breweries. If beer doesn’t do the trick, there are refreshments developed by the restaurant itself that will beat coca-colas and fantas hands down.
The menu is heavily inspired by the Texas Barbeque-style flavours. The dishes are meat-centric. The menu includes such items as brisket, half-smoked chicken, sausage, meatloaf and brisket fillet. All dishes are served with a coleslaw salad, pickles and the sinfully delicious Parker House Rolls.
You can order side dishes such as chips, onion rings, cornbread, house-made kimchi or the American comfort food Mac and Cheese. The side dishes can also be enjoyed on their own with a beer.
You can visit the brewery and have a sauna
Põhjala Tap Room & Brewery’s dessert menu includes treats that are not calorie-counted. For dessert, you can choose from caramelised banana with chocolate chips and whipped cream, or luscious chocolate cake.
On Sundays, the restaurant serves only breakfast all day instead of the regular menu. The breakfast menu includes eggs, sandwiches, salmon bagels, pancakes and muesli. You can also choose coffee instead of beer to accompany your breakfast.
Põhjala Tap Room & Brewery organises daily brewery tours in English, Estonian and on request also in Finnish. Tours must be registered in advance. There is also a sauna on the premises of the brewery-restaurant, which can be hired by the hour.
